PSR Volunteer Information

All PSR volunteers are called to teach and witness the Good News of Jesus Christ to our children so that they may respond to God in faith, prayer, behavior, community and discipleship. We are looking for people who love their faith and want to pass on that faith to our children and youth. If your desire is to teach or simply support those who will be teaching; we would love to have you join a team. Please contact the appropriate Program Coordinator with any questions, or complete the online PSR Adult Volunteer Form on our PSR Registration Information page if you are interested in volunteering. Scroll down for information on Weekly and Non-Weekly volunteer roles.

VIRTUS Training (All Volunteers)

PSR volunteers who have not yet been screened or whose screening has expired must complete the VIRTUS training prior to their first day in the classroom. Catechist Training (Full-Time Volunteers)

Full-Time Volunteer Roles

Catechists implement and plan sessions together with other co-catechists on their team. Basic session plans are provided by the Program Coordinator and are available on our Catechist Blog Links for easy access by our volunteers. If you are new to the Church (or PSR), or are not yet comfortable in a teaching role, you may wish to begtin as an Aide. Aides report each week and are assigned as support where needed. This is a wonderful way to learn the ropes to be a catechist down the road as the goal for all of our team members is to be able to teach. Weekly volunteers receive reduced tuition for their children of $25 per child with a family maximum of $65.
